I have 3 years of experience as a part-time private and volunteer tutor. My experience thus far has been working with middle school and high school students through their sophomore year (and I am open to working with younger students as well). I work with students on a variety of subjects, specializing in math up to/through Algebra One and Geometry, writing, reading comprehension, history/social studies, and science (excluding chemistry). My goal is not only to help students gain subject-matter knowledge, but to help them build the skills needed to be successful students. I offer both virtual and in-person sessions.

Education is important to me, and it has been a big part of my life. I used to work full-time as a designer at an education tech company (IXL Learning) and at an education tech startup before that. Additionally, I have experience working with kids as a swim coach. As far as my own academic background, I graduated cum laude from UC San Diego with a Bachelor’s of Science in Cognitive Science specializing in Human-Computer Interaction. I earned honors every academic quarter. Also, I grew up on the peninsula attending local public schools, so I’m familiar with the academic pressures that students often face. I can provide a reference to a current client upon request. Feel free to contact me so we can have a discussion about your student’s needs and your goals for them.
